Description

The Hydrostatic Balance is a general-purpose laboratory balance designed for schools and colleges to demonstrate and determine specific gravity using Archimedes' Principle. It provides a simple and practical arrangement for comparing the weight of an object in air and when immersed in a liquid.

The balance is mounted on a heavy, nicely polished wooden base fitted with levelling screws for stability and proper alignment. It is provided with two long pans and one short detachable and adjustable pan, each approximately 100 mm in diameter, allowing the balance to be configured for different hydrostatic experiments.

The apparatus is suitable for demonstrating buoyancy, loss of weight on immersion, relative density and specific gravity through practical measurements.
